FAQ

Dance mirroring questions, answered plainly

Orientation, platform honesty, pricing, and privacy—without hype or impossible guarantees.

Frequently asked questions

What does horizontal mirroring change?

It exchanges the left and right positions of the displayed video. It does not reverse time, change the order of steps, or turn the controls backwards.

Should every dance tutorial be mirrored?

No. Mirroring can help with same-side visual copying, but original orientation is better when stage direction, formation geometry, readable text, or the exact source-side detail matters.

Why can a tutorial feel backwards?

A front-facing instructor's right side normally appears on the viewer's left. The picture may invite a screen-side copy while the spoken cue names a body side. Testing one explicit side cue can reveal the mismatch.

How is Android different from iOS?

Android offers a live horizontal mirror through selected-app screen sharing where permitted. iOS focuses on importing a local movie into an in-app practice player. They share the same Lifetime Pro entitlement, not the same overlay path.

Does local practice require editing the video?

No. Mirroring, seeking, speed changes, and phrase loops can be playback-only operations. A player can leave the original movie unchanged and avoid creating an exported copy.

Does Dancer Mirror upload or keep my practice video?

Capture frames from screen sharing are processed ephemerally on-device and are not retained. Local movie practice stays on your device for playback; accounts exist only for entitlement, promo, and device binding—not a cloud video library.

Does the local player need full photo-library access?

No. It is designed around a system photo picker and file picker so you explicitly choose a movie. It does not request broad photo-library permission.

Which local movie files will play?

Compatibility depends on whether the device can decode the selected movie's container, video, and audio formats. A file being selectable does not guarantee that every track is playable.

Can the iOS player mirror another app on screen?

No. The iOS experience is an in-app player for a local movie you explicitly import. It is not a cross-app overlay and does not claim overlay parity with Android.

How much is Lifetime Pro?

Lifetime Pro is a one-time purchase at $14.99 / ₹1499. An approved artist promo code unlocks 20% off at $11.99 / ₹1199. There is no subscription in the first release.

How do artist promo codes work?

Enter a valid artist code in the app before checkout to buy Lifetime Pro at the promo price. Artists earn a flat monthly INR commission per attributed seat under the published slab schedule.
