Start with the session boundary
Most mirror issues narrow down to platform path, consent, source policy, or protected content.
Troubleshooting checklist
Confirm the platform path
Android live mirror needs Android 14 or newer with app-scoped screen sharing is required for the live mirror path. iOS needs a local movie you can import.
Begin a new sharing session (Android)
Fresh user consent is required whenever a screen-sharing session starts.
Check the source app or file
For live mirror, the source app must permit screen sharing. For import practice, confirm the movie decodes on your device.
Treat black content as a protection signal
Protected content may appear black when an app prevents screen sharing.
Safe diagnostic details
A device model, operating-system build, and whether the whole frame or only one region appears black are usually enough to begin diagnosis.
Do not send sensitive screenshots, screen recordings, or source-app content.
